Napoléon III.: Histoire de Jules César, 1865

This volume is one of a series of works on the Roman emperor Julius Caesar and his military exploits during the Gallic Wars. The author was none other than the French emperor Napoleon III who was keenly interested in the young discipline of archaeology. The book might never have been written were it not for the extensive support of the German antiquity scholar Wilhelm Fröhner. The author gifted him a copy with a personal dedication. Fröhner bequeathed the book to the library in Weimar after his death.
