Ernst Salomon Cyprian: Tabvlarivm Ecclesiae Romanae, 1743

This book on the history of the Roman Catholic Church was written by the theologian Ernst Salomon Cyprian, the librarian at the Ducal Library in Gotha. The exquisite looking binding is designed in the Cambridge style. The brown leather-bound cover is divided into sections by gilt stencils. Gold-embossed crown motifs and floral decorations adorn the spine – typical for books of the 18th century.
